Details

The creation of the Kathi Roll is often attributed to a person named Nizamuddin, who was the owner of a restaurant called Nizam’s in Kolkata. Nizam’s restaurant is considered one of the iconic places where the Kathi Roll gained popularity. The story goes that Nizamuddin, in the mid-20th century, wanted to offer a convenient and portable alternative to the traditional kebabs and parathas that were being served in his restaurant. He came up with the idea of wrapping the kebabs in a paratha, making it easier for customers to carry and eat on the go. This innovation led to the creation of the Kathi Roll as we know it today.
